Patchwork families
Patchwork families
toy designed for Mały Klub of Bunkier Sztuki Gallery in Krakow

Patchwork families is the term taken form psychology and it has gained some currency for a family in which at least one parent brings a child from a previous relationship. I use that term according to any kind of “different” configurations among families, for example when its form has been changed because of accidents, divorce or when kids are being brought up by a homosexual couple.
My goal was to highlight that kids from such an “abnormal” configurations are as good as from so-called regular models, and that it should not be understood as a shame or anything strange. And that the character and strength of the family should depend rather on feelings, respect, love and understanding.
Edition of 100 sets of textile dolls in 17 different configurations. Each set is available in the card board box.
