The exhibition explore themes of the centre column and the home. There are also present architectural references to the Renaissance when the man (male) was inscribe in the circle and the circle in a square. That measurement was a perfect proportion for all buildings.
Exclusion of women from the creation of architecture, its design has a long history and has finished quite recently…
The column is seen as a symbol of power combined with the masculine. However, the authority/power may be represented by both women and men. At the show we have a black object which is open in the middle of the shape of the house where there is a pillar / chimney. Axis Mundi connecting element of the divine and mortal, the divine with the human. Way of mediation and transition.
White object, the column made up of sheets of light white cloth hanging from the ceiling. Creating on one hand, a strong vertical form, on the other hand a light, airy interior through which you can easily pass.
Such a feminine architecture, the laundry which hangs on the strings.
