Suturing with Diana 2023&2024
Since my last stay in Kenya in 2019, I have been in constant contact with two women, one of them is Diana Sule. Recently, when I asked her how her life was, she mentioned that her biggest concern was the primary school fees for her daughter, PhelicRegina. I asked about the annual cost – it is $150. I decided to give her the opportunity to earn this money and took the initiative to make a new object – a sweater, mended as before, but made of different uniform colors.
I have already declared that we can do such an exchange every year so that we can use it to pay for my daughter’s school fees. I feel responsible for the people I meet on my way, the activities with the Razem Pamoja Foundation have no continuation and ended quite dramatically for the people there, so I did not want my relationship and activities there to be just a form of parachute exploitation for my own goals/artistic projects. I really want it to have a real continuation and to improve the lives of at least a few people I met then.
We have already done our exchange twice, at the beginning of 2023 and 2024.
