Growth – Soreisa

 Growth – enclosed textile environment

Where?: Soreisa Church, NorthPole Circle Norway. The inspiration for “Growths” are cobwebs and everything that lurks in the corner, dirt, dust, subcutaneous lifein the walls, streaks. However, by covering up what is “ugly” in the corner, it shows the beauty of handiwork and natural material. It refers to Freud’s term “heimlich – unheimlich”, something familiar, well-known and at the same time dangerous. This feeling is inextricably linked to home. This work examines the function of tapestry or kilim, which were decorations in the past. Tapestries also warmed up interiors. This softens the corner, but can also collect dirt.

Work carried out as part of the Scholarship of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage Poland.
