I am interested in the emotional condition of people in the city space. People on streets, in buses, lifts, at railway stations and bus stations; but also in more private situations such as when looking in the mirror in toilets. Human problems, fears, paranoia are removed, pushed away from the official or public consciousness, for meeting people it is required that you are happy and smile, if not, you have failed. My work should be a sign, information for people that they are not alone with their fears, stress and paranoia. Each of us sometimes achieves such an extreme point of fear that we feel as in a cage. We want to scream, but are unable, want to run away but stand and feel a claustrophobic lack of air and space for us to exist. Such events can happen in many places – public spaces, e.g.: on streets, in banks, at railway stations, in elevators, in buses and trains, but also in more private areas such as public toilets and private houses. These spaces are open to everybody: thousands of people passing through day by day. There are different kinds of screens which inform people about the time, date, departure time and so on. This information is aimed at everybody and also to nobody. The aim of my work should be to smuggle between this information my own word BREATHE. The pulsating and vivid word BREATHE is aimed to each human, it tells us about an obvious thing, breathing is necessary to live and concentration on breathing helps to remain calm.
