Flow – The European Pavillion 2024 Liquid Becomings
Mosses, mushrooms, lichens I named them in 2010 – Rococo. They are created in the crochet technique and then placed in space (in corners, at the floor or ceiling). They are crocheted, growing successively and uncontrolled. Growth, excess, softness, organicity, heterotrophs belonging to a larger global network – mycelium. Last year I made such a larger surface of gray sheep wool as a potential clothing for members of the FLOW crew, I made them during my residency on the boat and on land. Crocheting is a very mobile method and does not require any special working conditions. An ideal method for nomads. My goal was to create clothing from sheep wool. I was inspired by the vests that Ewa Ciepielewska and Agnieszka Brzeżańska already have. They recommended taking woolen clothes with them on the trip, because wool does not absorb moisture and provides delightful warmth at night and in the evenings. Wool can float on a river, it almost does not sink. The vest was presented on the body in the Quinta Allegre space in Lisbon.
